A Dream Deferred
by Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
--Knocked this off from a Nike Olympics commercial--fit my mood well

I like to think that a dream deferred can mature in its time. I've been dreaming of having a novel in print since childhood, and it finally happened after I was fifty years old. It's a matter of God's planning, seems to me! Without knowing what your dreams are, I just said a quick prayer that they will become real at the right time. It can be hard to wait, I know! But I wish you well. I read your comment on my post, about long life, and can see exactly what you say. Here's hoping you see much to celebrate and be glad of - and your family as well. Blessings.
