Don't Fall Into the I am not Religious Trap!


In our search for genuine, heartfelt authentic Christianity, many believers have fallen into a dangerous trap of the Evil One! Perhaps they have seen people who keep religious practices but do not have their hearts upon God. Perhaps they did not find God as a young person because their parents or the Church failed them. But the Fault is NOT in the Church! The Church is Jesus Bride! The Church is the Kingdom of heaven that Jesus desires to bring to earth! The Church is the only place that will challenge us to "work out our salvation in Fear and trembling!

Without the Church, I am outside, in the dark with no oil for my lamp(see Matt 25) when the Bridegroom comes for His bride!

I am Religious(at least I try to be!) and I will not be ashamed of the body of Christ, or of His Cross!

The Greatest of Gifts!


My sin has taught me something! When i chose to refrain from partaking of the gift of the Holy Eucharist because I was not in a state of grace, I learned a little bit of a yearning for God. A hunger for the God's most precious gift to humanity grew in me.

Once I was reconciled to God through the gift of Confession and absolution, the Bread, that only HE can give was more precious to me. Now my eyes are more open to see the REAL FOCUS of the mass. Not music, which i love, and long to partake in! Not liturgy, that holds our attention so much at times! Not even the homily or the scripture that is so precious to me!

It is the Very Gift of God, that by a miracle of grace becomes bread and wine, that we may consume, the very Life of Jesus Christ!

The Heart of God!


Today is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus! In today's reading the heart of God is laid bare for all to see!

The first reading is a sad one from Hosea, it speaks of the tender parental love that God has for His people, how he nurtured them and taught them and expected love in return and was disappointed! How, like a good father, he restrains his Disappointment and seeks to show pity on them once more.

The Gospel reading today, gives us a glimpse of the Cross, the final moments when a sword peirced the heart of the One Who Loves us so! We pierced that heart and continue to do it, each time we turn our backs on right and truth! And yet that Heart chooses to continue to be our perpetual sacrifice, given on the altar of Catholic and Orthodox Churches all over the world each day, until the coming of the GREAT day of the Lord!

Lastly, Paul, who has glimpsed somewhat of the Love of God's heart, gives us a heartfelt prayer that should be ours all our lives, because it will transform us!

14For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15from whom his whole family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

20Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.~Eph 3

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Mr. Pritchett confirmed that he was indeed the author of the much-circulated "open letter." "I did write the 'you scare me' letter. I sent it to the NY Times but they never acknowledged or published it. However, it hit the internet and according to the 'experts' has had over 500,000 hits.
